Sony Bravia: another good link

OK, so I found another site that has a good version of all the videos: 1 min, 2 min, and all the mutliple version of the making of:

-here's the link-

Sony Bravia

This is a commercial that I first saw last semester in my Comms 495 Class. The version I've embeded in this post is the one minute spot, but there is actually a 2 minute version which I prefer. I just don't think you get the full affect of the piece in the one minute version. If you want to see the two minute version you can see it here (i didn't find the quality to be that good...seems really choppy) or you can download it from this website. (this is preferred. the quality is much much better.) You can also download and watch "the making of" which is quite interesting. You really don't think about it, but those balls are flying down those San Fransisco streets super fast. You've got camera crews behind barricades and the first AD standing there with one of those glass police shield. Quite fun to watch.

:30 sec Trigon Commercial BlueCross/BlueShield

Ok, so today while I'm on campus I met these random guys while kickin' it at a table in the Wilk terrace. Long story short, they showed me this hilarious video and as soon as I saw it I knew I had to post on my blog about it. Basically in the video this little boy (seen above) is trying to explain what he saw while watching a movie with his Mom.
I found a site that had a decent looking file so here it is. Check it out. You can also see it on google video. (Make sure you click the little carrot on the bottom right of the video screen if you go to google video and make sure the file is set to the original size rather than full screen or fill to window. It looks a lot better that way and runs smoother.)

Blogging for Newbies

So today someone asked me what a blog was. My friend Seth and I were able to give him a short decent answser I thought. And then later today I came across this post on Scripting News (curtosy of bizstone) and thought it was a good read; Bizstone desribes it as a good way to explain blogging to a newbie , and I think I would agree (and that's coming from a newbie).

Just Downloaded the Blogger Widget

I'm not sure how practical this widget will be in my actual usage, but it seems kinda cool. I'm actually using it to write this post. Dang, I love macs.

Cake Day

So this girl that Jason knows (her name is Seretta...like Beretta but with an "S" for "Supergreatcakedecorator") is in this cake decorating class and she invited us over tonight for cake. It was rad. As you can tell from the pics, they look great, especially the one that looks like a freakin tree trunk! You might not be able to tell from how small the pic is, but that's bark on the side of the tree trunk cake (Ok, not really; she melted chocolate chips into a thin layer and then broke it up into bark-like pieces.) All and all, it was quite a tasty evening. Now I'm on a sugar high and can't fall asleep. Thus, I'm up late once again posting on my blog.

Familiar Insults

Some of you know that I spent my three day weekend volunteering on a student film shoot (Justin Cook's 419 project). It was a blast. I'm excited to see it come together in post production. I was able to work with some great people on the shoot and learn a lot as well. It was definately a worth while experience and an enjoyable (if not a little stressful and tiring) way to spend the holiday weekend.
My capacity in the making of the film was thus:
Best Boy: Grip
I was also able to begin my big acting debut as a stand-in during one scene, and was able to do some gaffing as well.

I've included some sweet pics that I took with my cell phone on the shoot of several car mounts Derick (Key Grip) and I rigged up. The setup we had for the sidemount was interesting. There are a ton of these medal pieces you can piece together all kinds of ways.
"You're only limited by your imagination." Right Derick?
Also, I have this great pic I took of this little saying that was painted on the back of this roach coach. When Johannes and I saw it we both whipped out our camera phones.

Random Fact: What the eye really sees

"We make the bars in bar graphs and histograms equal in width because the eye responds to their area. That's roughly true. Careful study by statistician William Cleveland shows that our eyes "see" the size of a bar in proportion to the 0.7 power of its area. Suppose, for example, that one figure in a pictogram is both twice as high and twice as wide as another. The area of the bigger figure is 4 times that of the smaller. But we see the size of the bigger figure as 2.6 times the smaller, because 2.6 is 4 to the 0.7 power."

Apologies from the Management

So...my last attempt at posting this new game: Warehouse was somewhat of a failure. Please stay tuned. I will try to fix the problem sometime this week.

SNL - Lazy Sunday: The Chronicles of Narnia Rap

So, my sister and her boyfriend showed me this video over Christmas break and then I just saw a post about it on my friend's blog and it made me smile. I'm providing a link to the video at the end of the post. I think you need quicktime 6 for it to work.

You can also just go to Steph's blog and go to the link she has for it. The only problem is that her link is to a copy of it on google video and the quality just isn't very good (no offense Steph, I do like you...and I do like google video).
Anyways, check it out. It's awesome.

Game of the Week: Tanks

So, I don't really know if it's the "game of the week" per se, but that phrase just kind of sounds good. I highly doubt I'll add a new game every week. Escpecially since this game is so cool.
I found it the other day and ended up getting quite distracted for awhile. I hope it can help distract you from some of your school work or whatever for a little while. Enjoy.

(I had some minor difficulties posting the flash file within this post so the game is actually at the bottom of my blog page. Scroll down and check it out).

How to Pimp Slap

So after seeing the words "pimp slap" in a comment on a friends blog I thought to myself..."hmmm....this topic is due for some further investigation." After a few moments of "investigational research" (aka...googling) I found this marvelous website, www.playerappreciate.com On this website, we find the proper way to deliver a pimp slap. So...just so you all know:

Jason Joins the World of Blogging

Well friends, it looks like Jason Graham has joined us. With our special influences he has decided to create a blog of his own. He calls it: Jasonity... A State of My Mind. I don't know about anyone else, but anywhere in Jason's mind might be kind of...shall we say "different."
Lets put it this way: Jasonity is not a place you want to live...it's not the kind of place you buy your first home, or raise your first couple of kids (probobly not any of your kids for that matter), but it is a place that everyone should visit from time to time. So...that said, I hope you all take a jaunt on over to Jasonity and check it out...maybe even add his blog to your sidebar. Heck, considering how much lack of motivation he has for school...he might very well pass me up in number of posts posted since starting my blog. Heck, he just started the blog like an hour ago and I think he's already surpassed McGowan's Blog... :)

Brokeback to the Future

I wonder if Larry Miller would allow this movie to be shown in his theater. When you have a minute, check out the trailer to Brokeback to the Future. Haha...

New York Doll

So...on the subject of great movies. If you haven't seen New York Doll, now would be an excellent time to see it. It's definately a movie you don't want to miss watching in the theater and right now it's at the dollar theater here in Provo. (Pace, you have no excuse. It's cheaper now in the theater then it will be for you to rent it).
