I'm sure none of you noticed (especially considering the fact that I haven't posted in months), but I made several small changes to the blog.
Small change #1
I decided to widen the main area of the blog to accommodate wider videos.
I seem to recall my blog originally being wide enough to adequately embed youtube videos without incident, but I couldn't help but notice how the right side of the video in my last post was cut off. So Annoying!
Anyways, I know that you can make adjustments to the video before copying the embed code from youtube's site (and even afterwords by hand) but it seemed as though the standard options on youtube's site were all too wide for this particular video and making adjustments by hand later down the road for other videos just seemed unnecessary. I was feeling the need to take advantage of all that sidescreen real estate anyways, so...wider blog.
Small change #2
Widening of the main area of the blog meant I needed to update my header as well, otherwise the width of the header wouldn't match (and that would be even more annoying than the edge of embedded videos being cut off.)
Without a working version of Adobe CS on my computer, I decided to re-create my existing header (albeit with a wider aspect ratio) using the online image editor from Aviary. It took a little trial and error to get things right, but I like the end result more than the original. This time around I was able to incorporate more of the trees from the original image (thanks theheadroomaudio).
I'd post a comparison for everyone to see, but I think I may have already deleted the image for the old header. :)
